Who Are We?

Iraqi Jews Community is one of the oldest and important community at the Jewish history,began at 586 BCE,at the time of the first babylon exile.

At this period the king of the  babylon empire Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the first holy temple in jerusalem,and exiled 10,000 jews(tribe of judah) to babylon(iraq).

From that point of history the  worldwide jewish communities will be influenced by the babylon jewish(iaqi jewsih) community:

1.iraqi jews had  build four major Yeshiva academys who developed:

1.a.One of the most  importment creation of the iraqi jews  to the all jewish pepole was the  babylon talmud.

1.b.wrote responsa books for all the jewish worldwide communities questions.

1.c.raised genorations of big rabbais who lead the world wide jewish and devloped new halacha rules.

2.continuing the jewish religion by developing the talmud and building yeshiva academys.

3.the return of the babylon jews to israel and building the second temple by the leader Zerubbabel.

4.developed the hebrew calendar.

 

 

At 538 BC just part of the jews from babylon return  to israel for  building the second temple by the leader Zerubbabel.

The other part who stayed at babylon was enjoyed of free religion rules,that part was the charge  group who developed the babylon talmud,halacha rules,yeshiva academys,big rabbais,responsa books for all the jewish worldwide communities questions.

The new age:in the 19 century most of the  iraqi jews were traders and took  a part of the irqai government,even the iraqi Cabinet minister was a jewish.
